DoxyDiva is the moniker for the new conceptual artwork of illustrator Andrew Skilleter which combines rendered photography with traditional techniques working primarily with the feminine face and form. Ideas, wordplay and striking graphic compositions are central to his personal vision.
He directs and photographs the models and these images form the basis of the figurative content which are then rendered and combined with his own traditionally painted material. Photoshop is subverted to the demands of his imagination. Digital jamming, improvisation, editing, addition and deletion.
DoxyDiva offers a fresh approach to figurative work. The DoxyDiva trademarks include compositional a playfulness, rhythm, motion, texture and the appearance (given any excuse) of the odd – sometimes very odd – cherub or cupid. This is just the beginning with new work under development ~ the work will encompass figurative images, fashion, the theatrical, dance, burlesque, and retro to name a few.
