I am currently studying Media Makeup on a HND Level following my previous education in my BETEC extended national diploma in which i achieved D*DD. I want to open my future possibilities, ultimately better my skills and knowledge that I have gained already and to meet new people and still feel comfortable in my surroundings. I have skills in Media Makeup, Hairdressing, Wig making, Costume Design, FX makeup, Body Painting and Visual Studies. I have been awarded an Outstanding Student of the Year award in 2013, worked with the Swindon Advertiser, Gay Pride 2013, I achieved first place in my Heat at World Skills 2013 and went through to the final to gain 4th place and a Highly Commended award, Represented my College at a College fair 2013, 3 End of year shows and am still achieving high distinctions. My A* in art has helped me enormously in achieving my passion. Due my understanding of art I believe it makes me very creative as a person and so I can apply this to my work and ideas to create unique, exciting pieces that will stand out against others. It’s one of the biggest talents I can bring to my job, I have practiced it most of my life and have refined my makeup skills due to this. I never wanted to lose my interest in art and this course allows me to continue my love for art in a modern medium that I have grown to love. I love film with a passion and whilst watching films I analyse how each look is achieved and how I could have improved the look. However as much as I’d enjoy working behind the sets of big blockbusters working behind a major theatre production or high end Fashion show and delivering under high pressure situations also interest me as well as working with a variety of photographers and models. I can achieve to the best of my abilities even in difficult situations and I don't lose faith in myself as a makeup artist. There’s always a way to improve, something new to learn and I'm ready to better myself and move towards reaching my full potential.
